Method |

Heat oil in a frying pan and fry rice flakes using strainer. |
|
Coarse grind the fried rice flakes in a mixer using 150 ml of water. |
|
Melt sugar in a thick bottomed pan and add the ground rice flakes. Cook for 20
minutes, till the mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. |
|
Remove from fire. Serve hot or cool by setting in moulds. |
|
|
Variation – You may use boiled mashed potatoes in place of bottle gourd (Dudhi) to
prepare potato halwa. |
