9. Oats sweet pancake

Vanilla essence |

Apple jam* |
3 tsp(15 g) |

½ tsp(2.5 ml) |
Egg white |
1/3rd (15 g) |
Method |
- White flour, powdered oats and 2 drops of vanilla essence are added to
beaten egg white. Mix well and made into a thin batter by adding water.
- Heat nonstick tawa and spread little oil over it.
- Pour a ladleful of the batter on tawa, spread out very thin and cover with a
laid. The dosa should be of the thickness of paper.
- When fried, spread a filling of jam on the dosa and rolled it up, remove
from pan.
- Wrap in muslin cloth and keep for a few minutes.
- Cut in to slice before serving.
Note: It's important that you get the mixture out of the pan as fast as possible or it
may harden in the pan.
Note: In place of egg vegetarians can make use of sour curd (1 tsp). |

Variation - for pancake filling you can make use pumpkin halwa or pineapple
jam. |

- Suitable for renal failure patients with controlled k (Potassium) levels.
- Unsuitable for patient with Diabetes.
*Should be avoided by diabetics, they can make use of sugar free jam or papaya
halwa prepared with permitted artificial sweetener.
