4. Fresh pear in sauce

Vanilla custard powder (dissolved in little
water to form thick paste) |

Method |
- Wash pear well. Core and divide it in to 4 pieces.
- To stew pear boil water along with sugar, few drops of lemon juice (Optional) and
pear. Cover and cook the pear in it for about 3-4 minutes till they turn soft but yet
keep holding on to their shape.
- Arrange the stewed pear in a clean serving dish which is not too high (1½”height),
leaving behind the sugar syrup. Keep aside.
- Strain the sugar syrup. Dissolve custard powder in 1/4th cup water and add to the
sugar syrup.
- Cook the sugar syrup, stirring continuously, till thick and translucent. Check sugar
and add more if required.
- Pour the ready sauce over the arranged peaches. Serve chilled. You can decorate
it with few pieces of toothy fruity (optional).

Variation - You can make use of fruits like Apple, Pineapple in place of Pear. |

- Occasionally Suitable for renal failure patients with controlled k (Potassium)
levels.
- Unsuitable for patient with Diabetes.
- Suitable for patients who are on hemo dialysis and needs good quality
proteins.
- Unsuitable for patient with uncontrolled Diabetics.
*Should be avoided by diabetic patients, they can make use of permitted artificial
sweeteners in limited amount in place of sugar.
