5. Marzipan cookies

White flour |
(140 g) |
Butter (Salt free) |
(80 g) |
Powdered sugar* |
(35 g) |
Almond essence |
2-3 drops |
Method |
- Set the oven at 300°f
- Cream fat and sugar, add almond essence and mix well.
- Add flour, mix thoroughly to make a dough.
- Divide dough in to 20 equal pieces
- Shape in desirable shapes (like fruit, flowers etc). Sprinkle little
sugar on each cookie press it lightly with palms.
- Place on ungreased baking trays, keep sprinkle sugar side up. Chill for 15 minutes.
- Bake for 10 minutes or till set, but do not brown.

Variation - You can prepare ginger cookies by using ginger powder (1/4th tsp) in place
of almond essence. |

- Suitable for renal failure patients with controlled K (Potassium) levels.
- Unsuitable for patient with Diabetes.
