20. Halwa paratha (Sweet stuff roti)
Ingredients Amount
Wheat flour ½ katori (50g)
Semolina (Sooji) 4 tsp (20g)
Sunflower oil 4 tsp (20ml)
Water 1 cup (150 ml)
Green Cardamom (Crushed) 1 (Optional)
Sugar * 4 tsp (20g)
 
Method
 
  Make Sugar syrup by boiling 50ml of water and sugar.
  Semolina (sooji) is fried in oil and when it turns brown in colour, syrup is added and the mixture is cooked till very thick.
  Wheat flour is then made into dough with water and divided in small balls. Each ball is stuffed with a little halwa, then rolled out into a thin small chapatti and fried with little ghee on hot tawa. Serve hot.
 
Variation- You may prepare various halwa parathas by making different dry halwas like pumpkin, bottle gourd, potato for stuffing.

  Suitable for renal failure patients with normal K (Potassium values)
  Unsuitable for patient with uncontrolled Diabetes.
*Should be avoided by diabetics. In place of sugar, diabetics can make use of ‘Sugar free’.
