5. Marzipan cookies

Ingredients Amount
White flour (140 g)
Butter (Salt free) (80 g)
Powdered sugar* (35 g)
Almond essence 2-3 drops


Method
  • Set the oven at 300°f
  • Cream fat and sugar, add almond essence and mix well.
  • Add flour, mix thoroughly to make a dough.
  • Divide dough in to 20 equal pieces
  • Shape in desirable shapes (like fruit, flowers etc). Sprinkle little sugar on each cookie press it lightly with palms.
  • Place on ungreased baking trays, keep sprinkle sugar side up. Chill for 15 minutes.
  • Bake for 10 minutes or till set, but do not brown.
 
Variation - You can prepare ginger cookies by using ginger powder (1/4th tsp) in place of almond essence.
