11. Semolina cookies
Ingredients |
Amount |
White flour |
150 g |
Sugar powdered |
85 g |
Semolina |
50 g |
White butter |
120 g |
Cardamom |
3-4 pods |
Vanilla essence |
3-4 drops |
Curd (sour) |
2 tsp (10 g) |
Method |
- Preheat the oven to 375F / 190C
- Beat the margarine with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla essence
and Mix the flour, semolina and cardamom.
- Knead lightly to a tight dough. Make sure that the dough does not stick to your
hands.
- Oil a baking sheet lightly or use a greaseproof paper to line it.
- Divide dough in to 40 small equal portions and flatten a little with your palms.
Place it on the baking sheet. Do this for all the cookies.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Take out the cookies when you see the sides browning lightly. They will still be
soft but don't be disheartened. These cookies dry up fairly well as they cool and take
on a nice crunch once they are completely cooled.
Note: These cookies turned out great, not too sweet either. Great accompaniment to
tea or coffee. |
