29. Snake Gourd Caldeen
Ingredients Amount
Snake gourd (Tender) 115 g
Chilli powder A pinch
Ginger 2.5 cm
Green chilli 1
Cinnamon 2.5 cm
Oil 150 ml
Onion 15 g
Salt to taste  
Coconut 1/2
Coriander 5 g
Cumin A pinch
 
Method
  Wash and cut snake gourd into 5cm by 2.5 cm pieces. Parboil with a little salt and water.
  Grind to a fine paste, coconut, coriander, cumin, turmeric, ginger, green chilli and cinnamon.
  Heat oil, add sliced onion, Saute, add gourd ingredients and fry for a few minutes more.
  Add snake gourd pieces, a cup of water and more salt if desired. Cook till gravy is thick and gourd is tender.
