26. Stuffed Round Gourd
Ingredients Amount
Medium-sized round gourd 500 g
Coriander powder 10 g
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Chilli powder 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves A few sprigs
Lime 1/2
Coconut 30 g
Mawa  60 g
Sugar A pinch
Garam masala A pinch
Oil 100 ml
Salt to taste  
 
Method
  Wash the gourd and peel.
  Cut a slice off at the stem end. Scoop out the seeds.
  Rub inside with salt and set aside.
  Mix together coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric, chopped coriander leaves, lime juice, grated coconut.
  Mawa, garam masala, sugar and salt.
  Stuff the gourds with the prepared mixture.
  Put the top slices back. Fix with toothpicks.
  Cook in a moderate oven, using oil to baste, till soft. Serve hot.
