6. Apple kheer (Apple flavored rice pudding)
Ingredients Amount
Rice 2 tsp (10g)
Apple (Grated) 1/4 th katori (cored and peeled)
Milk 3/4th tea cup (100ml)
Water 1 tea cup (150ml)
Cardamom (Powder) 1 (Optional)
*Sugar 3 tsp (15g)
 
Method
 
  Pressure cook grated apple and rice.
  Blend it to form puree.
  Cool it to room temperature. Boil milk by adding water in a heavy based pan; cook it till it becomes ½ of original. Cool it.
  Add apple rice paste add sugar to milk. Boil it for 5-10 minutes stirring continuously serve it hot or cold in glass bowl.
   
Variation – In place of Apple, one can use 25g Red pumpkin or dudhi

  Suitable for renal failure patients, hypertensive with or without edema with controlled k values.
  Unsuitable for patient with uncontrolled Diabetes.
*Should be avoided by diabetics. In place of sugar, diabetics can make use of ‘Sugar free’.
